NOTE FROM THE SUBMITTER: My research shows that Daniel McGowan Viall was born 31 July 1778, probably in Providence, RI, to Nathaniel Viall and Patience Bennet. He died in April 1827 in some unknown accident in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County, NY with his sister, Nancy Viall Greene. His parents were of Newport, but during the Revolution they were forced to abandon their home to the British, who were occupying Newport; they then moved to Providence, RI. Olive was born in Pownal Township, Bennington County, VT on 12 November 1781, to Job Green of Newport, RI and Johanna(h) Vaughan of East Greenwich, Kent County, RI and Voluntown, New London County, CT. Olive married as her second husband Levi Nelson. She died 18 August 1864 in Schaghticoke. She may have been born on land that was disputed by NY and VT which was ceded to NY in 1791 and became a part of Hoosick.
