Zophar Simpson. 34 years old. Enlisted on 11/2/1861 at Geneseo, NY as a private. On 11/2/1861 he mustered into "G" Co. NY 104th Infantry. He died of disease as POW on 4/10/1864 at Richmond, VA. He was listed as POW 7/1/1863 at Gettysburg, PA (confined at Macon, GA). Promotions: Corp. 11/2/1861; Comm. Sergt. 10/8/1862; 2nd Lieut. 10/21/1862 (as of Co. G); Intra Regimental Company Transfers: 10/8/1862 from company G to Field & Staff; 11/24/1862 from Field & Staff to company G. Source: New York: Report of the Adjutant-General.
