The last will and Testament of William Spotten deceased together with the Probate thereof. Recorded June 17th 1815.
In the name of God amen I WILLIAM SPOTTEN of Lansingburgh in the County of Rensselaer and State of New York being of sound disposing mind & memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say
I give and devise unto my mother ISABELLA SPOTTEN all and singular my real and personal estate either in possession, [--?--], or remainder consisting principally of One Sixth part of a House & lot situate lying & being in the City of New York on Roosevelt Street formerly owned by ELEANOR TAYLOR also a certain lot piece or parcel of ground situate lying & being in Lansingburgh aforesaid being a part of lot number Two beginning at the corner of lot number Three and running southwardly along Water Street Forty feet thence Eastwardly One hundred and twenty feet thence Northwardly along an Alley Forty feet to lot number Three thence Westwardly along said lot number Three to the place of beginning also One equal undivided third part of Lot number One hundred on the South by South Street West by River Street North by lot number Two & East by an alley twenty feet wide also One equal undivided third part of the residue of Lot number three To Have & to hold the said several lots, pieces & parcels of land to her the said Isabella her heirs and assigns forever.
I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint CALVIN BARKER and ISAAC HASBROOK of Lansingburgh aforesaid Executors of this my last will & testament hereby requiring them to give notice to THOMAS MITRE to make a division of the personal property of ELEANOR TAYLOR deceased now in his possession agreeable to the will of the said Eleanor as by reference thereunto will now fully appear and that the said division be made as soon as may be after my decease. -
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighth day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifteen. -

Be it remembered that on the Seventeenth day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifteen personally appeared before me, William McManus Esquire Surrogate of the said County of Rensselaer, Andrew Thompson one of the subscribing witnesses to the will of William Spotten late of the town of Lansingburgh in the said County deceased; who being duly sworn declared that he did see the said William Spotten seal and execute the written instrument of which the annexed is a copy purporting to be the last will and testament of the said William Spotten bearing date the Eighth day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifteen, and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament; that at the time thereof, he the said William Spotten was of sound disposing mind and memory, to the best of the knowledge and belief of the said Andrew Thompson and that he the said Andrew Thompson together with John Hagarty & John Benjamin the other witnesses to the said will, severally subscribed their hands and names to the said will, as witnesses thereto, in the presence of the testator and of each other.

The Letters Testamentary granted to Calvin Parker and Isaac Hasbrook Executors upon the last will & testament of William Spotten deceased together with the said will & probate thereof. Recorded June 17th 1815.
The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God free and Independent:
To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern, send Greeting:
Know Ye, that at Troy in the County of Rensselaer, on the Seventeenth day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifteen before William McManus Esquire Surrogate of our said County the last will and Testament of William Spotten late of the town of Lansingburgh in the County of Rensselaer and State of New York, deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed), was proved and is now approved and allowed by us; And the said deceased having whilst he lived, and at the time of his death goods, chattels or Credits within this State (by means thereof the proving and Registering of the said will, and the granting of administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging of the account that(?) doth belong to us); this administration of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, and any way concerning his will is granted unto Calvin Barker and Isaac Hasbrook executors in the said will named, they being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits, and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required.
In Testimony whereof, we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed. Witness William McManus Esquire, Surrogate of the said County, at Troy the Seventeenth day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.
