The Last Will & Testament Of Aaron B. Akin, Deceased
Recorded January 26th 1858.
With the Proofs thereof
as a Will of Real & Personal Estate.
Will
Know all men by these presents that I AARON B. AKIN of the Town of Clinton inthe County of Rensselaer & State of New York of sound mind & memory do make,declare, & publish this my last Will & Testament.
First, I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife, CAROLINE C., all my household furniture & also the use of one third of all my real & personal Estate property in lieu of her dowry.
Second, I give & bequeath unto my Grandson BURR AKIN, son of WILLIAM G. AKIN,deceased, the sum of Two Thousand Dollars to be invested on Bond & Mortgage by my Executrix & Executors & the interest to be paid annually to him until he becomes 21 years of age.
Third, I give & bequeath unto my two Sons, Isaac W. & Richard W. Akin & also my two Daughters, Martha Jane, wife of Chauncy V. Crapo & Catherine Maria Akin all the remainder of my Estate to be divided equally share & share alike deducting One Thousand five Hundred Dollars from the share of Martha Jane wife of Chauncy V. Crapo which sum she has already rec. from my Estate.
Fourth, I wish & desire that my Executrix and Executors invest the sum bequeathed to my Grandson Burr Akin, son of William G. Akin, deceased, & also the portion of my estate bequeathed to my wife Caroline in like manner.
Fifth, I do nominate & appoint my wife Caroline C. Akin my Executrix & my two Sons, Isaac W. & Richard W. Akin Executors of this my last Will & Testament.
On testimony thereof I have hereto set my hand & seal & publish, declare this to be my last Will & Testament in presence of the witnesses named below this 11th day of December one Thousand Eight Hundred & Fifty Seven.

Signed, Sealed & Delivered & Published by the said Aaron B. Akin as & for his last Will & Testament in presence of us who at his request & in his presence & in the presence of each other have set to writing (?) our names as witnesses.

The Will & Testament

Aaron B. Akin, Dec'd
County of Rensselaer
Isaac Akin of Greenbush & Benjamin Akin of the Town of Clinton in the County of Rensselaer being duly sworn in open court doth depose & say & each for himself says that he is a subscribing witness to the last Will & Testament of Aaron B. Akin, late of the Town of Clinton in the County of Rensselaer, deceased. And that the said deceased did in the presence of the deponents subscribe his name at the end of the instrument which is now shown and exhibited to these deponents and which purports to be the last Will and Testament of the said Aaron B. Akin which bears date on the 11th day of December 1857.
And that the said Aaron B. Akin did in the presence of these deponents & at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid declare the said instrument to be his last Will & Testament and these deponents did thereupon subscribe their names at the end of the said Will as attesting witnesses thereto at the request of the said Testator in his presence & in the presence of each other. And at the time when the said Testator subscribed his name as aforesaid, he was of sound mind & memory of full age to execute a Will & was not under any restraint but content in all respects to devise real Estate.
