In the matter of the application for Letters of Administration on the Estate of BENJAMIN ALLEN, deceased, late of the city of Troy.

Filed 28th day of March 1866

County of Rensselaer, NY.
DARIUS ALLEN of the City of Troy in said County, being duly sworn, do depose and say that I am the brother of the said deceased; that said deceased died a natural death at the city of Troy in said county, on the fifth (?) day of March, 1866, without having a last Will and Testament; and that said deceased at the time of his death was possessed of certain personal property in the State of New York, the value thereof does not exceed the sum of seventeen hundred dollars, as I have been informed and believe; that the said deceased left him surviving no widow, children or descendants, father or mother, but brother and sisters as follows

full brothers of said deceased who have filed their ----- of rights to administer said estate half brother and half sister of said deceased, only next of kin; and that he was at or immediately previous to his death an inhabitant of the County of Rensselaer.

And I pray that Administration on the Estate of the said deceased is granted by the Surrogate Court of the County of Rensselaer to me.

Filed March 28, 1866.

Know all men by these Presents that we, DARIUS ALLEN, LORIMUS VANDERHEYDEN and EDWARD BROWNELL [sic] of the city of Troy, NY are held and firmly bound unto the People of the State of New York, the sum of thirty four hundred dollars current money of the United States of America, to be paid to the said People to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our and each of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these Presents.

Sealed with our Seals, and dated the 26th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty six.

The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden DARIUS ALLEN Administrator of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of BENJAMIN ALLEN deceased, shall faithfully execute the trust reposed in him as such, and also, that he obey all orders of the Surrogate of the County of Rensselaer, touching the Administration of the Estate committed to {blank}: - them this obligation to be void otherwise to be of force.
