Steve Wiezbicki publishes, free of charge, the 169th NY Infantry Newsletter hosted by the New York State Military Museum and Veterans Research Center website. Steve writes: "I started the newsletter in February 2012, and ever since the October 2012 issue, the focus has been on a serial history of the regiment in commemoration of the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War. The newsletters contain extensive personal information about individual soldiers in the regiment (as well as information about the regiment as a whole), including correspondence, newspaper articles, reports, etc. Many letters include references to other men in the regiment, each of whom is clearly identified. The newsletter also contains images from my ever-growing archive of photographs of soldiers from the regiment, is heavily illustrated, and averages over 100 pages per issue." |
