Return of the
Recruiting Party at Troy
In a box of junk that he had bought at a house sale, Mr. William Eaton of Cleveland, Ohio, found a tattered book 18 inches by 7.5 inches, containing only two complete pages and half of a third. Many entries are blotted; others have been damaged by moisture. The following list was prepared from the original by Mr. Donald D. Webb of Lakewood, Ohio; Mrs. Ruth Zorn of Saginaw, Michigan; and the Associate Editor of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Record. Each of the recruits was given eight dollars in bounty money. Most are shown as having received one hat, one coat, one vest, two linen overalls, two shirts and one blanket. Josiah Fuller and Abraham Knapp were also issued one drum each.
