WAGNER, DORING. Seeking marriage record of my great-great grandparents Fred WAGNER and Wilhelmina DORING. According to obituary they were married in Troy, NY, probably at a Catholic Church, soon after arrival in America. First child was born 17 Nov1853, so probably a bit before that date. WASSMANSDORF. Seeking information about the WASSMANSDORF families who resided
in Troy. The WASSMANSDORF families are believed to have emigrated from either
Frankfurt am Main or Bad Homburg. Herman WASSMANSDORF was a cigar maker and
is listed in the 1896 City Directory. So is another Herman WASSMANSDORF, in
an indirect way: a Mary WASSMANSDORF is listed as the widow of a Herman WASSMANSDORF.
It seems improbable that there would be two families of the same name
(and the same given name), so the deceased one might be the father of the cigar maker.

If so are there any source records. My ancestor Andreas WEATHERWAX owned approx 2000 acres on what today is the S.E. end of the reservoir. I have the land records and his will of 1783, and strongly suspect that he was buried on his own land. No other Rensselaer cemetary shows his gravesite. Wayne E.
