VAN ALSTINE, Reverend Nicholas. I have been researching the life of Reverend Nicholas Van Alstine for several years. He was pastor of the Raymertown Evangelical Lutheran Church from 1871 to 1898. I recently found an article in the "Democrat", a newspaper published in Hoosick Falls from 1893 to 1912. Can anyone give advise where I can find issues of "The Democrat", preferably on microfilm? Raymertown in located within the Town of Pittstown. I have been trying to find local newspapers that were circulated in Raymertown during his pastorate. VAN BUREN, Peter. Seeking any information about Peter VAN BUREN (c1790-1842).
He began appearing in city directories for Troy, NY in about 1836 and remained there
until the household began to be listed under the heading of Mrs. Peter Van Buren in
1842. This Peter VAN BUREN married by 1817 to Caty [--?--] and had a son Hiram VAN BUREN
(c1817-1883) of Schodack, Rensselaer Co NY; Hiram VAN BUREN had a son Hewlett G.
VAN BUREN (c1846-1912). Peter VAN BUREN married lastly in about 1819 to Lucretia
DECKER (c1793-1865), who I think was a daughter of Henry DECKER (d 1802) of Schodack.
The children of Peter VAN BUREN and Lucretia DECKER, all born in the 1820s and 1830s

VARLEY, GLYNN. Seeking information about the VARLEY and GLYNN families who lived in Troy. Mary VARLEY and husband Michael GLYNN b. abt 1881 lived in Troy between Adams Street and the canal. VERRY/VARY, Samuel. Samuel was born 1740. Came to Stephentown, NY and was deeded land on May
21, 1774. Samuel died Dec.22,1807 and his wife Hannah d. 1826. Both buried in Garfield Cemetery in Garfield, NY.
