ICKES, ADARE, ROLLINS, ROLENS. ICKES Family Photographs. I've "rescued" a group of photographs,
including two which are identified as members of the ICKES Family of Clyde, Ohio.
The first photograph is of Maggie ICKES ADARE, wife of Winfield ADARE.
The photo was taken at the Rockwood Studio in Clyde, OH, probably in the 1890s,
with Maggie appearing to be in her 30s at the time. The second photograph is of
Orpha ICKES ROLLINS, sister of Maggie ICKES ADARE. This photo was taken at the
Zimmerman Studio in Clyde, OH, also probably in the 1890s, with Orpha appearing to
be in her teens or 20s at that time. The other two photographs are of unidentified
females, one taken at the Chicago Studio in Toledo, OH and the other taken at the
MAGILL STUDIO IN TROY, RENSSELAER COUNTY, NY. With limited research, I do find
Winfield ADARE married to Maggie ICKES on 28 April 1880 at Sandusky Co., Ohio.
I also find Orpha ICKES, born 1867-68, in Ohio, living with her mother Susan ICKES
and two brothers, William ICKES and Henry ICKES, in Clyde, OH in the 1880 US census.
Orpha ICKES married William H. ROLENS on 15 Jan 1884 in Sandusky Co., OH. I'm hoping
to find someone from this family so that these wonderful old photographs can be
returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone
who might be, please contact me. Thanks. Shelley Cardiel
