Ambrose Spencer Cassidy. 40 years old. Enlisted on 4/18/1861 at Brooklyn, NY as a 1st lieutenant. On 5/23/1861 he was commissioned into Field & Staff 84th NY Infantry. He was discharged for promotion on 1/27/1862. On 1/27/1862 he was commissioned into Field & Staff 93rd NY Infantry. He was discharged for disability on 11/19/1863. On 12/2/1864 he was commissioned into Field & Staff NY 125th Infantry. He declined commission on 12/2/1864. He was listed as POW 4/23/1862 at Lee's Mills, VA. He was paroled 9/21/1862 at Aiken's Landing, VA (exchanged for Thomas Marshall 7th VA Cav.). Promotions: 1st Lieut. 4/18/1861 (1st Lieut. and Quartermaster); Major 1/16/1862 (as of 93rd NY Infantry); Colonel 12/2/1864 (declined commission); Brig.-General 3/13/1865 by Brevet.
