James A. Colvin. 24 years old. Enlisted
on 4/19/1861 as a private. On 4/19/1861
he mustered into "B" Co. NY 25th Militia
Infantry. He mustered out on 8/4/1861.
On 8/25/1862 he was commissioned into
"A" Co. NY 169th Infantry. He mustered
out on 7/19/1865 at Raleigh, NC.
(Subsequent service in US Army during
Spanish-American War). Promotions:
Capt. 8/21/1862 (as of Co. A,169th NY
Inf); Major 2/13/1864; Lieut. Col.
11/9/1864.
