John Maguire. Enlisted on 5/31/1862 at Albany, NY as a sergt. major. On 5/31/1862 he mustered into Field & Staff NY 25th Infantry. He was mustered out on 9/8/1862 at Albany, NY. On 12/27/1862 he was commissioned into "C" Co. NY 175th Infantry. He was killed on 4/14/1865 at Goldsboro, NC (killed by Guerrillas). He was listed as POW 4/14/1865 Goldsboro, NC. Promotions: 1st. Lieut. 10/13/1862 (as of Co. C 175th NY Inf.); Capt. 5/18/1863. Source: New York: Report of the Adjutant-General.
