This deposition was contained in the application for pension file for Roswell WELCH of Fenner, Madison County, NY.

State of New York Rensselaer County

The deposition of Asa BEEBE of the Town of Berlin in the county & State aforesaid who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he was well acquainted with Rozzel WELCH in the month of August in the year 1782 and that said Welch and the deponant enlisted into the Continental Army in the Town of Springfield, Massachusetts, said Welch in Captain Emerston's Company and this deponant in Captain Taylor's company, and that said Welch was in Colonel Tupper's Regiment where I frequently saw him. There he enlisted for three years, and that I see said Welch in the month of June 1784 at West Point in service - that I was then discharged myself soon after, and further this deponant saith not.
