New York Civil War Soldiers Buried at Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, Mississippi |
The bodies interred here are the remains of deceased Union soldiers that were brought from their original burial places at Natchez, Port Gibson and Prio's racetrack in Mississippi; and from Vidalis, Concordia Parish, Waterproof, Cross Bayou Ferry, Red River Landing and Turnbull's Island in Louisiana; and from various places opposite the mouth of the Red River, which flows into the Mississippi River from the Louisiana side.
