The last will & testament of George Derick deceased with the probate thereof. Recorded the 30th day of December, 1862.

I George Derick of the town of Brunswick in the county of Rensselaer and the State of New York, do make, publish and declare my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say,

First I give all my Real Estate to my son ABNER DERICK, consisting of the farm on which I now reside, also that other piece or parcel of land lying partly in Brunswick and partly in Grafton commonly called the mountain wood lot.

I give to my wife MARY DERICK the interest of Six hundred dollars yearly also all her fuel necessary for her own use also all necessary flour for her own use also two hundred pounds of pork yearly also the use of the Dwelling house the part which she occupies now and no more also all the furniture which belongs to me in said Dwelling. The above interest of Six Hundred is to be derived from the Bank in which I have the same Deposited to be accepted and received by her in lieu of Dower the above to be performed by my son Abner Derick.

I give to Daughter EMELINE SMITH the sum of three Hundred Dollars, to my daughter MARY ANN SNYDER Three Hundred dollars, to my daughter ELIZA M. COLEHAMMER Three Hundred Dollars, to my daughter DEBORAH HAYNER Three Hundred dollars, to my daughter MAHALA EARL Three Hundred Dollars. The above legacies to be paid by my son Abner Derick in the following manner, to pay to my Daughter Emeline Smith one Hundred and fifty Dollars in one year after my decease, to my Daughter Mary Ann Snyder one Hundred and fifty Dollars in two years after my decease, to pay to my daughter Eliza M. Colehammer one hundred and fifty dollars in three years from my decease, to my Daughter Deborah Hayner one Hundred and fifty dollars in four years from my decease, to my Daughter Mahala Earl one Hundred and fifty dollars in five years from my decease, to my Daughter Mahala Earl one Hundred and fifty dollars in six years from my decease, to my Daughter Deborah Hayner one Hundred and fifty dollars in seven years from my decease, to my daughter Eliza M. Colehammer one Hundred and fifty dollars in eight years from my decease, to my Daughter Mary Ann Snyder one Hundred and fifty dollars in nine years from my decease, [and] to my Daughter Emeline Smith one Hundred and fifty dollars in ten years from my decease.

I give to my son Abner Derick my part in the double pleasure Waggon also my harness sleigh also my long sleigh also my horse Rake, also all my plows and Drags, also my Harness in the Barn and all the Barn furniture consisting of tanning mill, strait [sic] cutter, Pitch forks, rakes

I give all the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate to my son Abner Derick and to my Daughters Emeline Smith, Mary Ann Snyder, Eliza M. Colehammer, Deborah Hayner, Mahala Earl, to be divided equally between them share and share alike.

Lastly I hereby appoint my son Abner Derrick and my son-in-law ANSON HAYNER to be executors of this, my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this Twelfth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and fifty eight.

The above instrument was at the Date thereof signed, sealed, published and declared by the said George Derick as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names(?).
