PELHAM b. in England. Alexander emigrated to the US in 1842. He was supposedly orphaned and raised by an undle in Troy, NY. Census records have been of no help. THORNTON, ROBINSON. Seeking information about family of William THORNTON b. Nov 26, 1808 in NY and wife Maranda ROBINSON b. abt 1821. They resided in Grafton, NY until the 1840s or 1850, at which time they moved to Ionia Co., MI. In 1866 they settled in Fond du Lac Co., WI. William's mother was born in NY and his father was born in RI. There are two other THORNTON graves in Ionia Co., MI: Hiram THORNTON b. Aug 22, 1798 d. Feb 16, 1885; and Aseneth THORNTON b. ca. THURBER, William. I am looking for any information on William THURBER, early settler in East Hollow, Petersburg, NY. A cemetery on Weaver Dam Road has many Thurbers listed; included is his wife, Phoebe. Does any one have dates or info on this cemetery? TWOGOOD, COLE. Seeking information about John TWOGOOD and Mercy COLE. John was listed as John TUGOOD in the 1800 federal census in Rensselaer Co., NY, then as John TWOGOOD in the 1820 federal census in Pittstown, Rensselaer Co., NY. IGI shows a John TOOGOOD born October 8, 1767, Swansea, Bristol, MA, son of Nathaniel TOOGOOD and Martha ???. IGI also shows a John TOOGOOD married Marcy COLE April 15, 1790, Swansea, Bristol, MA. The book, "Landmarks of Rensselaer County NY" p203, states, "... was a son of one of two brothers who emigrated from England and settled in Connecticut some time before the Revolution. Soon after the Revolution he came to Pittstown where he married Mercy COLE, by whom he had two sons and five daughters. Joseph Cole TWOGOOD was the eldest of the sons..." Any information on these TWOGOOD and COLE families would be appreciated. I'll be glad to share any information I have.
