These photographs were contributed to this website by Christine Pearce. Christine writes, "I am attaching some pictures of the tombstone of James and Margaret HENDERSON. There is a biography of them on the Rensselaer County GenWeb site. James HENDERSON was the first town supervisor of the Town of Poestenkill and is written up in History of Rensselaer County, New York by Nathaniel Bartlett Sylvester. James and Margaret HENDERSON were my great-great-grandparents. They are buried in the New Mt. Ida Cemetery on Pinewoods Avenue in Troy. Several of their children are buried in this plot, as well."
