HENRY VAIL SHEPARD, born in Troy, N. Y., Jan. 9, 1856, began reading law in the office of Hall & McGregor in 1875, and subsequently in the office of Smith, Fursman & Cowen. Admitted to the bar in May, 1877, from law department, Union College; practicing in Troy.
